Narrative Writing.

Today in Literacy we looked at Narrative Writing. My writing is unfinished because it took long to find the right picture I want to write about. This is my very first draft of Narrative Writing. What I like about my writing is that the picture really explains what I am writing about.

Once upon a time a little boy named Jordan
was wandering around the forest near
his house but suddenly little poofs of fire
came from a corner. Jordan went to
that corner in the forest and it was
a little baby dragon in a bucket.
The little dragon looked weak and was crying.

Informational Writing.

I.A.L.T Bring all my information knowledge and choose a topic and put all my information I know about that topic and put it in my writing. I call it Informational Writing.
Informational Writing. Topic: Poverty

Poverty in my own opinion is very very 100 percent sad. It worries me to see how many
people that are in poverty, also poverty means Extremely Poor People if you did not know.
I  sometimes wonder what I would do if my parents passed when I was little.
I would be extremely in poverty. I feel sad when I talk about it but to make
me less sad I don’t think about poverty people. But I get reminded of them
when I go to the shopping centre. Some of them even sleep on the ground!.
I am very sad. I picked this because I want to share my experience of what
poverty means to me in my opinion. So please if you see a person in poverty
or in need of help. Check your Wallet if you have some money and give
it to someone. Because one coin means a lot to that person.

Francis ll News Paper Article Writing.

This piece of writing is in the form of a newspaper article, it is about our lock down training ( not the Covid-19 lock down ) just in case if something raids the place.
A school at risk

A kind woman has entered our school to help us go into lockdown if something dangerous happens outside in that case our lives may be at risk. She had told us alarms will remind us when we shall go into the lockdown. Now Returning to class and half an hour later  an alarm rings not because our lives are at risk, it is just to practice. We do what we do if our lives would be ending… we hide under the tables on our stomachs and stay like that until further notice. 25 minutes later the woman and our principal came into the Te Wairua Pakiki Learning Space where we were to inform us that the practice was over. We walk downstairs to Takiriatia 1, 2 and 3. The kind woman tells us that we were better than the school she had practiced lockdown with last time. That is great to hear. Our lives aren’t at risk now but they will later. You never know.

DLO. For Reading and Religious Education.

It is another day of Distance Learning. So this was TWP 4's activity for Religious Education and Reading for the day. We had to create a DLO of God.
Our teacher gave us scriptures from the Old Testament. We had to choose 6 scriptures to read and we had  to write What describes god in that scripture so like if he was described as a mother I put a picture of a mother so I put a picture of my mum. So I put this activity in a DLO/Digital Learning Object. This activity is based on Religious Education but its based on reading. This is my DLO.

Literacy Poems.

Covid - 19 Lock Down Poem.
Doors and Windows all close,
I don't see my friends,
Covid - 19 Lock down,
Go away so Lock Down will end.

Virus Poem.
People Dying People Crying,
Please enough of that,
A Virus will kill you,
That's a true fact.

Bubble Poem.
Covid - 19 is causing a lot of trouble,
So for your safety,
Stay in your bubble.

Pandemic Poem.
The Covid - 19 is a Global outbreak disease,
When it is gone,
We will all be free.

Literacy Writing.

It's still lock down and things have changed. First I stopped attending school because our principal doesn't want us getting the Covid - 19, and because Jacinda Adern our prime minister said it's for the children's safety. Some people might wonder "then how do you do school?" Well I do school through technology. I am lucky to have a Chromebook to do my learning through. Our teacher sets up a google meet on hangouts for me and my class to go on so we can see her. She then does prayer with us. And tells us our learning we have to complete for the day.  I've never done google meets before so it's a new experience for me.

Secondly my dad stopped working but my mum kept working. So I get to spend more time with my dad. We do so much together we do my work together like he helps me. He also watches movies with me. Before I never got to spend time with him because he was always at work and when he came back he was tired and was sleepy. Right now if you're struggling like your parents are riding my horse. My parents struggle paying the bills but they make it work during this hard time.

Lastly if you are a catholic you know that during lock down church closed down. (It's sad and bad. that we don't get to go to church and see Father talking to us and all of that. But it's also good because we can do it at home. That means you and the people in your bubble can just have a time alone with Jesus. But anyways even though things have changed we can work it out in the end.

What my name means to me.

We made a poster of our names and we put it on the wall in our classroom. We then had to write a little tiny poster about what our name means to us. This is mine.
My name means special to me because I’m named after a Saint, and my mum's first brother. Usually you are supposed to be named after your dad's family but instead I was named after my first uncle. I like being named after him. He's a good inspiration. His name is Mamana and so is mine. My second name Francis was chosen by my first aunts my dad’s eldest sister  Sr Leva Vaihu. Because she wanted me to be named after a Saint so she chose Saint Francis of Assisi. Saint Francis is my favourite saint so it’s a great honour to be named after him. Francis was also my baptism name. I love my name and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love to be called Francis Mamana Jnr Vaihu Veikoso.

Goat Island Trip.

On Monday I woke up super early and got ready because the bus left for goat island at 8.00 and knew in my mind, something fantastic was going to happen. I waited downstairs in the lounge until my mum woke up to pack my lunch. I got to school at 7.30 and waited for everyone so we could leave to the fantastic Goat island soon everyone arrived from the houses and it was time I could not wait to go. The fabulous bus came and my body was just full of excitement. Goat island here I come.

The bus started moving and I thought we were halfway there already. I sat next to my cousin Taniela and behind my friend Kamaea. I looked outside at the cars and just talked about them with Kamaea. After our chat I thought we were about to get to wonderful Goat Island but only one hour left. We finally got there and I bursted with phenomenal excitement. I got off with my class and a guy named Frazier introduced us to everyone and everything he was in charge of the land that we were about to explore. I was so happy. Sophie was then the person in charge of snorkelling so I was happy because she seemed very nice.

We put on wet suits for snorkelling. And they were hard to put on but that didn’t stop me from pursuing my dream of snorkelling. So I used all my strength and I got it on the same with my flippers. We walked to the sea and some people were chilling there. We walked back into the sea with a surfing board. I held onto the board and I was so excited in the water to see all the fish. I put on my goggles and we snorkeled . I first saw a beautiful snapper my body was going to explode with excitement. Because I have never seen a fish under the sea in real life. Then I saw a fantastic Monkey fish I never knew there were monkey fish. We swam to goat island. It was beautiful I have never felt so happy. We came back to land and had our fabulous yummy lunch. Mine was delicious thank you mum.

Nextly we went around and explored the wonderful land. This was something else that my body was going to explode out of excitement. Frazier took us around. We first used binoculars to see what was on top of the fabulous hills. I saw cows and more cows. We then went around and saw ducks. I was so happy because I love ducks. Then we saw eels in the lake. It was so beautiful. Then we went to the awesome rocks believe it or not but I saw a starfish and other different starfish. I said “this feels awesome” after 20 minutes more we came back to the fabulous land and said goodbye. Our time came to an end. I was sad but I had a wonderful day at goat island.

What a phenomenal moment for me at goat island.
